Did you know there is more to LinkedIn than just resume posting and searching for people? Well, there is! Over the past few years, LinkedIn has developed into a business-networking phenomenon. If you are job searching, active in recruiting, or looking for business, make LinkedIn a part of your weekly routine. Here are several components you may not know about:
Groups: Engage with your community/target audience by participating in groups. There are industry groups, community groups, special interest groups and more. By participating and sharing useful information, you will be learning and networking at the same time!
Company Pages: Anyone who has a profile on LinkedIn is familiar with the personal page/resume portion of LinkedIn. Last year, LinkedIn introduced company pages- a fantastic way to share news on your company, create a company/business network, and post job openings. Here is the LinkedIn page for us at Evolve Systems.
Recommendations: Recommendations and referrals are a huge benefit to job seekers and businesses alike. If a potential employee has great referrals, an employer is more likely to offer an interview. If a business has great referrals, a prospective client is more likely to use that business over the competition. The LinkedIn recommendation feature makes it incredibly easy for a person or business to politely request recommendations from clients and coworkers.
Prove your Expertise: The LinkedIn Answers feature allows field experts to answer questions asked by other LinkedIn users. By providing help, you are demonstrating your willingness to offer help when needed. This also is a great way to network within related fields.
